A blue wave swept the country Tuesday night. Democrats took the U.S. House and Senate, flipped the Pennsylvania Senate, and Janelle Stelson beat Scott Perry next door in the 10th District.
Here in Lancaster County, one race is still undecided.
In the 41st House District, Brett Miller leads Brad Chambers by 41 votes out of more than 28,000 cast: 14,225 to 14,184. That’s 50.07% to 49.93%.
Provisional ballots are still outstanding. We expect that count by the end of the week, possibly Friday. If it stays this close, a recount is on the table. Brad Chambers is still in this race.

Why this matters
Two years ago, Miller won this seat by more than 4,000 votes. Today it’s 41. That didn’t happen by accident. Every door knocked, every ride to the polls, every neighbor reminded to vote moved this race. Whatever the final count, that work counts.
When people hear a race is over, they tune out. This one isn’t over. Stay engaged.
What you can do right now
If you voted a provisional ballot, you can check its status with the Pennsylvania Department of State or the Lancaster County elections office.
Stay patient and stay informed. Counting every legal ballot takes time. That’s the system working, not failing.
Respect the process and the people running it. Election workers are our neighbors. Questions and concerns go through the county elections office and the courts.
Follow The Message. We’ll report the provisional count and any recount news as soon as it’s official.
No one should declare a winner until every vote is counted. That’s not a partisan position. It’s how democracy works.
